CS2 Repeat Last Grenade: Command & Bind
sv_rethrow_last_grenade recreates your last grenade throw without moving or resetting you. Bind it to one key to test flashes, smokes, molotovs, and HEs.
Updated July 29, 2026
The CS2 command to repeat your last grenade is sv_rethrow_last_grenade. It recreates the grenade you just threw with the same throw parameters. It does not move your player, restore ammo, or reset health. That makes it especially useful for moving to the opponent's side of a lineup and checking the same flash, smoke, molotov, or HE from several positions.
The command
sv_rethrow_last_grenade
Run it (or press your bind) after throwing a grenade and the server recreates that throw. Because your player stays where they are, you can move or noclip to another position first and then watch the utility arrive from that angle.
Bind it to one key
Typing the command every throw is slow. Bind it to a spare key instead — open the console (~) and enter:
Now one press recreates your last nade. A noclip bind pairs well with it, so you can quickly move to the positions where opponents might be standing:
Pick any keys that are free during practice — B and N are just examples.
Full setup: console and a practice server
For the command and bind to work, you need the developer console and a cheat-enabled server:
- Settings → Game → Enable Developer Console = Yes, then press
~. - Start an offline game on the map you want (Practice / Workshop / a local server).
- In the console, run
sv_cheats 1. - Enter your bind (above), throw a grenade, and press the key to rethrow it.
For a complete practice config — infinite ammo, longer rounds, buy anywhere, bots — see the grenade practice config guide.
Test utility from the opponent's perspective
Throw the grenade once, then move or noclip to the area where it lands and press your rethrow key whenever you want to recreate it. The command leaves your player, ammo, and health unchanged, so it is an analysis tool rather than an automatic lineup reset.
- Flashes: stand in several common defender positions and rethrow the same flash to see which angles it blinds, which positions are safe, and how easy it is to turn away.
- Smokes: watch the same smoke from the other side, or stand in its flight path to check whether an opponent can body-block it before it blooms.
- Molotovs and incendiaries: move around the target area to see exactly which positions the fire reaches and where a defender can still stand.
- HE grenades: test the same explosion from several positions to compare damage and find the real edge of its effective radius.
Pair it with a real lineup set to practice something useful: work through the Mirage smokes, flashes and molotovs, then check your progress with GetReplay's nade training.
FAQ
What is the command to repeat the last grenade in CS2?
sv_rethrow_last_grenade — it recreates the last grenade throw on the server. It does not move or reset your player, ammo, or health. It requires sv_cheats 1 on a local or practice server.
How do I bind rethrow last grenade?
Open the console and run bind KEY "sv_rethrow_last_grenade" (for example bind B "sv_rethrow_last_grenade"). Then one key press repeats the throw.
Why isn't sv_rethrow_last_grenade working?
You almost certainly don't have sv_cheats 1 on, or you're on a server that blocks cheats. It won't run in matchmaking — only on a local or practice server.
Does it work in matchmaking or FACEIT? No. It's cheat-protected, so it's practice-only. Use it on an offline or private practice server.
